A woman’s modern corner – the boudoir of the XXI CENTURY

Let's start with the furniture. The most characteristic boudoirs are the ones with quilted surfaces and the made upholstery. They are usually decorated with pastel colours, and are often made of velvet or suede. It is interesting that in order to liven up such romantic and bland accents, is to use materials such as leather, or plastic. Though remember that we do not need to give up the soft textiles and accessories.

Bear in mind that a private, feminine corner is a cosy and a charming place. Do not dispose of the heavenly soft and fluffy pillows, rugs or any other supplements made from fur. The focal point of the room is a dressing table.  However, make sure that it is properly exposed! The dressing table should be in fact buried with women's accessories and trinkets. Perhaps a nice frame with pictures and commemorative photographs, small mirrors, shells, flowers etc... But let's set on the most important cosmetic accessories - fancy bottles of perfume, makeup brushes or even makeup itself. A great decoration will also be our jewellery - colourful corals, pearls, rings and shiny earrings. Anything that is sparkly and glittery, is extremely desirable, according to the budoir style. Even more so when you decide to include modern furniture shapes.

Jewellery efficiently highlights the arrangement and design of the interior emphasizing who lives in the room. The overall lighting of the boudoir, or the little interior should be certainly a bit muffled. It is best suited with petite light lamps, which usually surround a large mirror. In order to enhance the effect, you should set a few candles on the dresser. If we cannot use one room in the apartment as the boudoir, try your best to separate a little chunk of your bedroom instead. We can improvise on the boarder by decorating the boudoir with a feminine wallpaper of patterns on the wall.

Scandinavian style

Scandinavian style is becoming significantly more popular among a variety of investors. However, there are many variations of this style. Some people prefer modern Scandinavian style, others date back to the roots of the more classic elements.
I've found photos of Scandinavian-styled living room contains many elements, which relate to the classical theme of romance. The severity of the simplicity and white colours was tackled by the addition of extra accessories and decorations.

Colour errors during interior design

Inappropriate colour of the ceiling
The most common, and usually the standard ceiling colour is the snowy white, the only negative is that it can easily overwhelm the interior and ruin the other surrounding colours, because it often contains grey pigments. To avoid this, replace the pure white colours with the ones resembling more creamy/beige shades.

The paired colours
Try to keep the colour of the walls unique, so it does not resemble the shades of the floor, carpets, or furniture. If you want to keep similar colours however, at least try to choose different shades of the same colour.

The colours combined
Interiors with strong colours are spectacular, and effective, but you always have to remember to tone down most colour mixes with one neutral colour. Thanks to this, the room will not look like the inside of a circus tent...

Domestic harmony
When furnishing an apartment, make sure you choose a colour that will become the primary focus of the entire design, and it will repeat in majority of the interiors. Therefore, this way, the rooms will create a coherent unity.

Get rid of the boredom
If you like the interior in neutral colours, do not forget about the contrasting accents and shades of the same colour, therefore the interior will enliven a little. Unfortunately the same colours can become monotonous... Black finishes in a cream bedroom or luminous whiteness in graphite-grey interiors will add the room a character and would certainly enhance their charm and elegance.

Look into the mirror
As curious as this may sound, interior designs should also take into consideration the type and characteristics of the house members. You can suit the colours of the interior features, to the colour of your eyes, skin or hair for example, in order to distinguish them even more.

Colour evolution
One furnished room does not have to remain the same forever. If after a year or two you get tired of the specifically decorated room, but you prefer to avoid yet another overhaul and extra hassle, you can significantly and easily change the interior by introducing a brand new colour, this could include paintings, accessories and remaining decorations that possess divergent colours.

Remember about the finishes
Dark colours tend to make a room seem claustrophobic. In order to avoid this, a high gloss finish is recommended. This specific effect doesn’t only have to be a finish on the furniture, believe it or not, it’s possible to get glossy walls as well!

Colour depth

If you are looking for a strong accent or shade, which will diversify the specific interior, considering neutral colours, feel free to include a neon colour. If the design is strongly based on strong and deep colours however, be sure to emphasize them by matching similar colour but of different shades, though make sure that they are nevertheless contrasted with the dominant colour.

Simple tricks with a great effect: Renew your house

Get rid of the dust, add a touch of colour, rearrange the furniture and put flowers in a vase. A house in the spring can be changed quickly and easily, without spending a penny or investing in special accessories that emphasize atmosphere!

Arrange
It isn’t a coincidence that ‘spring cleaning’ is associated with the spring season itself. After long, and cold winter months, finally the time of scrubbing, cleaning and washing has arrived, and thanks to this you can really transform your house. Therefore at times like these, you should just get on with it, and wash windows, hoover your carpets, clean the oven or the remaining furniture. A clean house will immediately provide you satisfaction, not to mention that it will bring a positive atmosphere back! Everyone loves and appreciates a freshly cleaned house!

Organise
After getting rid of the dirt and doing the general cleaning, we should introduce a little order into the cabinets, shelves and drawers. Revisit the winter wardrobe and make room for spring clothes instead! Bring peace and tranquillity into your wardrobe! You will certainly discover some new hidden accessories, and with that clear up, make room for some new clothes.

Relocate the furniture
This is one of the easiest ways to transform a house without spending any money. You can change the arrangement of furniture within the room, or think about moving them to another location. However, before you change anything, imagine the new room in your head, taking into account practical issues such as easy access to outlets and sockets. If the new arrangement proves to be unsuccessful, don not panic, as it’s always possible to return to the original layout.

Add some colour
Strong colours are a great way to liven up the house in the spring. If the strong colour components are already painted on the walls, increase their numbers, by adding more shades. If the interiors are neutral, then you have a guaranteed freedom of choice. Spring usually associates with elements of nature, in the colours of yellow, blue, green.

Change the fabrics
Curtains, pillow cases and bed covers also need to be refreshed during spring. Replace heavy, thick curtains for blinds out of cotton or chiffon, a light blanket for a thin quilt, soft acrylic coating pillowcases should be made out of linen or fine fabric with a hint of a pattern. Thanks to all these, the house will become lighter and will gain a positive atmosphere.

Show off your plants

A house that is filled with plants immediately brings to mind the spring or summer. Renew the pots of the plants and add new plants themselves, thus creating original, green compositions. A lovely way for a change inside the house are also bouquets, when placed on top of a table or a shelf, they can add a lot more colour to the interior.

Bathroom design: constraints

The ideal thing is an opportunity to design the bathroom from scratch. However, we only deal with them when considering houses. The size and layout is usually restricted for apartments and flats. Remember that the pipes determine both the position of the tub, shower and the toilet. While some modifications are possible, but they are expensive and not always possible to make. For example, the distance from the toilet to the main pipe cannot be greater than 1m.

Few words about designing a stairs..

Home designing can take a lot of time, and involves many different aspects. Starting from the beginning of the construction, through administrative and legal formalities and obligations, and the final finish of the given project. The very important, frequently forgotten issue, often to last, is the appropriate and correct preparation of the stairs. Raw concrete stairs not only can disfigure the house, but are also completely impractical. The best raw materials available in the market that allows the stairs to be beautifully finished off, are the natural stones, such as granite or marble. Granite stairs have an advantage over the stairs made from tiles, acrylics or wood, as they are much more durable, and significantly more resistant to impacts. Ceramic tiles are not permanent, and in a busy area such as this it is not at all difficult to drop a heavy object, which in the end will certainly crack the tiles.

When planning an arrangement of the stairs, we mostly consider their aesthetics and price. We certainly reflect and pay attention less, on the durability of the stairs, which is usually a big mistake. Granite stairs might not be the cheapest choice, but certainly in the long term – a worthy expenditure. Granite is a material with an extraordinary durability. This natural stone is highly popular, mainly because of its properties and fantastic attributes - resistance to mechanical or ordinary damage. With proper care of granite and marble (this is not a time-consuming or difficult job and certainly not a job requiring expensive products), we can be sure that our stone staircase will pleasure the eyes of the householders for many years.

Trust me - I've tested those stairs ;)

Adding some luxury to your home

Since the ancient times, marble has been associated with luxury and wealth. Shiny, smooth surfaces of stone were admired even in the medieval temples and houses of the most prosperous personalities. These days you no longer need to have a prosperous portfolio to be able to afford a granite or marble ornaments and items in your house or apartment. Kitchen worktops are now found in many homes and are not necessarily associated with great wealth, but robust and very good quality, standard and luxury.

Some people think for this type of solution for the kitchen is just a matter of luxury and extravagance. However, such a worktop in the kitchen simply ensures their owners a fantastic look, an easy to clean surface and most importantly, guaranteeing peace for many years as no exchanged worktops will be needed. Granite countertops are resistant moisture, heat and discoloration. The same factors can quickly lead to the complete devastation of another worktops, e.g. when made from wood or laminate.

The stone slab is very difficult to permanently damage, scratch or discolour. This is the most durable material used in interior design and construction. Granite slabs are used in areas that are often occupied (e.g. stairs, reception desks) and even on the facades of buildings, and it is important to notice that their location does not adversely affect their appearance. When deciding on the granite countertops we can have complete confidence that we made the right decision. Purchased materials will look great for many years, whether they are in the kitchen, bathroom or even on the facade of the house.
