Let's start with the furniture. The most
characteristic boudoirs are the ones with quilted surfaces and the made
upholstery. They are usually decorated with pastel colours, and are often made
of velvet or suede. It is interesting that in order to liven up such romantic
and bland accents, is to use materials such as leather, or plastic. Though
remember that we do not need to give up the soft textiles and accessories.
Bear
in mind that a private, feminine corner is a cosy and a charming place. Do not
dispose of the heavenly soft and fluffy pillows, rugs or any other supplements
made from fur. The focal point of the room is a dressing table. However, make sure that it is properly
exposed! The dressing table should be in fact buried with women's accessories
and trinkets. Perhaps a nice frame with pictures and commemorative photographs,
small mirrors, shells, flowers etc... But let's set on the most important
cosmetic accessories - fancy bottles of perfume, makeup brushes or even makeup
itself. A great decoration will also be our jewellery - colourful corals,
pearls, rings and shiny earrings. Anything that is sparkly and glittery, is
extremely desirable, according to the budoir style. Even more so when you
decide to include modern furniture shapes.
Jewellery efficiently highlights the
arrangement and design of the interior emphasizing who lives in the room. The
overall lighting of the boudoir, or the little interior should be certainly a
bit muffled. It is best suited with petite light lamps, which usually surround
a large mirror. In order to enhance the effect, you should set a few candles on
the dresser. If we cannot use one room in the apartment as the boudoir, try
your best to separate a little chunk of your bedroom instead. We can improvise on
the boarder by decorating the boudoir with a feminine wallpaper of patterns on
the wall.
